Kendra Spears for Vogue Paris 2012 - Montres

Kendra Spears did a stunning shoot for Montres watches in Vogue Paris. I really Love everything about this shoot. It's elegant and feminine but with a touch of masculine casualness. The colours match perfectly. The brown of the wardrobe with the burgundy lips and nails. The Montres watches are chic and stylish and applause for the stunning make up and absolutely gorgeous hair. So polished - Winter favourites

Winter nails!
In the winter I tend to use more darker colours on my nails, perhaps because you automatically wear darker clothes in winter. And by fashion rules we tend to use light and bright colours in summer. Here are some of my favourite colours for winter. That means that I've been rocking these colours like nobody's business!

  Essence: 60 Fateful desire

Essence: 139 Walk on the wild side

Essence: 142 Grey-t to be here

Bourjois Paris: 19 (could not find a name on the bottle)

Essie: 87 Decadent dish

OPI: Deutsch you want me baby?

OPI: Ski teal we drop

What are some of your favourite colours for winter nails?

Rules to live by

Sometimes you just need a little direction, a little motivation and inspiration to live your life the way you want it to. So, in 'Rules to live by' I'm giving you some quotes that inspire me to live better, be better, stay confident and just go for it! Get inspired!

"Live in such a way that if someone spoke badly of you, no one would believe it."

"Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it." -Mark Twain-

"Having a dream to pursue is as essential as having oxygen to breathe."

"Stop expecting others to act first, be the one who makes a positive change."

"If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things." -Albert Einstein-

"Surround yourself with people who know more than you do... That's how you rise. If you think you know it all you're screwed."

"Just because it takes me a little longer, doesn't mean I'm not going to get there." -Shar Pherai-

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." -Aristotle-

"It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one that is most adaptable to change." -Darwin-

-The harder the battle, the sweeter the victory."

Hope you feel inspired! XO Shar

Winter must haves

 Hi Loves!

I don't know about the weather where you are, but over here it is freeezing! -5 degrees celcius with a feeling of -11 (-20 to me). In this cold it is extra necessary to take good care of your skin. So here are my favourite winter must haves for my face, hands and lips.

Estée Lauder Daywear: This is one of the best creams I have ever used on my face. This cream is for normal/combination skin (pick the one that matches your skin). It has SPF 15 and has a light cucumber scent to it. This cream leaves my skin soft, hydrated, doesn't feel thick on your skin, but leaves the skin shining and feeling smooth. Although this product is very creamy, it absorbs perfectly into the skin. I usually use this cream in combination with Estée Lauder Idealist pore minimizing skin refinisher, which you apply before the cream, but because I ran out and wanted to try a different brand I am currently using the L'Oréal youth code luminizer.

L'Oréal youth code luminizer: This serum, just like the one I usually use from Estée Lauder is perfect to make your irregular skin tone more even and give it a healthy luminous glow. This serum contains vitamin Cg and not only makes the skin look silky soft, but it also feels that way and reduces the irregular pigmentation beneath the skin. I apply this serum before I apply my day cream to make my skin looking and feeling fresh even in this skin drying winter!

Chanel Précision Body Excellence hand cream: This product is my all time favourite hand cream. The revitalizing formula nourishes and rejuvenates the skin. The licorice extract helps to improve the clarity of your skin and the pro-vitamin B5 helps to condition the cuticles and coat the nails. This hand cream leaves the skin extremely soft and moisturised. Perfect for winter! Very creamy, but absorbs nicely into the skin. And the scent of this cream is simply divine. As all Chanel products it's a little bit on the pricey side, but definitely very much worth it.

Sephora hand candy: This hand cream is perfect if you don't like the feeling of a thicker cream on your hands. This product is very light weight but ultra nourishing. What I also love about this product is that it's dermatologically tested and has no parabens in the formula. The cream contains a purifying ingredient that removes pollution on the skin's surface. I also love the fresh scent and how it leaves the skin oil free but hydrated and soft.

Labello fruity shine lipbalm: I've been using lipbalms by Labello for as long as I can remember. They're moisturizing, they smell good, look cute and are easy to throw in your purse, pant pocket, jacket pockets, you name it. This one is in the pink guava scent and has a slight shimmer to it. If you apply it generously it will make your lips super soft and give it a lovely pink gloss. Honestly I keep applying this all through the day because I love the scent so much and how it hydrates the lips. It is made of tropical pink guava and has a SPF 10 factor in it. I have like 5 of these laying everywhere so I always have it with me. Perfect for keeping the lips smooth, soft, hydrated and with a charming pink shimmer!

Smith's Rosebud Salve: I've always had this in a little round tin container, but discovered this very popular balm came in a little tube as well! I'm definitely a big fan of the tube, because I think it's more hygienic than the tin container. This product has been popular for over a 100 years. It's not only for the lips but as Vaseline it can be used for light burn wounds, dry elbows and knees and a chafed nose in the winter, among other things. This product is perfect for dry lips, keeps them moisturised and ads a slight shine to the lips. I always apply this before I apply my lipstick or lip gloss. The soft balm contains cotton seed oil and lots of other special oils like rose flower oil. This is what also gives it the lovely rose scent. Smith's Rosebud Salve is a definite must have.

And for my body overall I like to use a body butter by The Body shop in the winter or a cream by Dove. But anything hydrating and extra creamy will do for your skin not to crack and dry out by the cold. And of course keep drinking lots of water or in my case a hot cup of tea! What are some of your winter must haves?!

Chanel lips

Chanel has some of the best beauty and make up products out there. I haven't used a Chanel product that I did not like to this day (except perhaps their nail polish. The nail polishes have the most beautiful colours, but it doesn't apply as nice as some of the cheaper brands). The prices can be a bit expensive depending on what you want, but you definitely get your money's worth. I'll do a beauty product post in the future, but this one is about their lipsticks and glosses that I am so completely in Love with!

Chanel Aqualumiere Lipglosses

These lipglosses are simply wonderful! They come in a variety of stunning colours, they're not sticky and the colours go well with different skin tones, even the lighter colours, because the glosses aren't overly pigmented thanks to their high shine sheer concentrate, which is nice for a gloss (for pigmented colours I'll use a lipstick). Apply a couple of layers for a better show of the true colour. The applicator is a little brush that makes it easy to apply the gloss more precisely. Also the tube is very chic with it's black top and white letters.

65: Party Red, this is a perfect red. I use this for when I'm feeling sexy (which is pretty often..ha!)

78: Cherry Blossom, Stunning dark pink, fuchsia kind of colour. I use this for an evening out, because it adds a special touch with the light glitter/shimmer that it has.

69: Glass Quartz, ultimate nude lip colour. I use this during the day, all day. Basic and chic.

697: Canari, nude with a little glamour. I use this colour when I want to sexy up the nude lip. The gold shimmer does this perfectly. This is also my ultimate summer lipgloss.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine

These pretty little things are between a lipstick and a lipgloss/balm. That's why they're called a hydrating sheer lipshine. I mentioned one of these in a previous post about products that I loved. And I still just cannot get enough of this product! It feels silky smooth on your lips and has a delicious creamy rose scent. This is definitely a must have for your make up collection! The colours in the picture above are 57: Aventure & 447: En Vogue.

Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick

This lipstick is stunning. My absolute favourite colour for winter. This lipstick is soft and hydrating on your lips, not overly pigmented, but just enough and has a lovely powder kind of scent. The container is also very chic. You push on the gold bottom and the lipstick comes out of the black container in it's elegant golden shell. This stays in my purse all through winter...and perhaps a little spring!
